    - My favorite picture is the black and white picture with the tree. "0945" is the number and it's my favorite because of the interesting shape of the tree. I also like how he took the picture from an interesting angle and how he used the rule of thirds. Contrast and balance are also aspects that I like about it.

He tells photography students to keep an eye out for interesting subjects around them also that they can't take the perfect picture, they have to keep trying until they, themselves, see the perfect picture.

How would you use this advice for your own photography?
I would use this advice for my own photography by taking more time to look at my surroundings and seeing what would look good in a photograph. I would also take more time to take the "perfect" photo instead of just taking the first or second one I take.

How would you use this advice for your own photography?
    - Practice makes perfect. I also like to think of it as the new perspective being something in our own individual taste. A way of looking at things is different for each of us, and can inspire something in someone that they didn't see before.

Which of his images is your favorite and why?
    - I really like the Rocky Mountain National Park. I love seeing how the rolling mountains have a taste of the tall green trees. It is absolutely breathtaking.

He says "to be perceptive. Always keep an eye open for new shapes, new colors, different kinds of light, and how light affects the way we see the landscape. Never forget that one cannot take a good picture unless one “sees” the picture first. The quality of one’s camera is not as important as the way one sees nature." I think this encourages kids to be creative and no matter if they have a really expensive camera they can still create amazing photos.

How would you use this advice for your own photography?
I will use this advice by looking out for something unique and something that catches my eye. And alway experiment even if you don't know if the picture is going to turn out.

He gives this advice, "My advice to photography students is to be perceptive. Never forget that one cannot take a good picture unless one “sees” the picture first. The quality of one’s camera is not as important as the way one sees nature. The best photographers I know, be they portrait, photojournalist, or nature photographers, have a genuine love for their subject matter. Their photographs have a quality unique to those people only in love with the camera."

I will use this to take even better photos and I will be more open to new opportunities in my photography by being more creative and taking different and unique photos.

He says to look for new shapes, colors, and different kinds of light. He says we should be "perceptive." He also says that you can't take a good picture, unless you "see the picture first." I would like to take that last statement and show it in my photography more.

How would you use this advice for your own photography?
This advice pushes me to be more creative and experimental in my photos. Finding new elements of a photo is challenging and requires a high level of creativity. However, I would like to challenge myself and really find those interesting shapes and colors in nature more.

Which of his images is your favorite and why?
0037 Cucharas Pass Fog near La Veta, southern Colorado and 1071 Willow Lake are my favorite pictures of his. The one of the fog is so interesting to me because of how it seems to fade out near the top where the fog is, and how bright the green is among that fog. In the picture taken at Willow Lake I love how there is a pop of color among the dull mountains and rock being reflected in the lake.

John Fielder suggests that we, as photography students, become "perceptive" of the world around us. We should always be on the looks out for interesting colors, patterns, and lighting. He believes that the quality of the images does not depend on the quality of the camera, but how observant on their surroundings the photographer is.

In order to incorporate this advice into my photography, I would have to take it literally: be observant of my surroundings. I would always be on the look out for a good photo opportunity and take the chance.
