ReplyDeleteThis project is a global art show letting people express messages to the public. Sending out unique messages and stories. It is really cool in New York. They are putting portraits all around the street grounds and billboards and things. I think it is a really good idea because it captures peoples attention. And capturing peoples attention is very important in trying to accomplish the goal. The vehicle is a good way to get images all around. And it isnt like a hard thing to do. You dont have to go into a photobooth area, they can just do it there. I can apply this and find something that will really capture peoples attention. Find things that are simply but capture a strong message. Something out of the box
The inside out project was developed at a TED conference. The creator wanted to spread art thoughout the wrld. People documented several different projects that involved posting pictures in public that gave the human identity more depth. The Iceland project really interested me because i enjoyed how they posted all of the faces along walls in the city to show the expression of each person. I think if more depth is given about personality of humans people will understand society and its people more.

ReplyDeleteThis project is a worldwide art show that isn't necessarily regulated. It encourages people to put up self portraits of themselves that convey a message that they choose. I like the one where people brought awareness to the persecution of minorities in Pakistan. I feel like it could have done a good job, because you see all of these smiling faces, and realize there is no need for persecution. This helps because It made me realize that photos don't need to be really clever or detailed. The simplest photos can convey the best messages.
Thats true. The simplest things sometimes really do have the most affect.

Soldiers Smiling for Justice grabbed my attention a lot. I believe this is a good way to affect change for the better because it shows that soldiers care about justice and influences others to smile for justice. The group action that grabbed my attention the most is the one where the people in New York City got there pictures taken and put on the ground. This affected me the most because everybody got their picture as a part of the city.
How can you apply what you learned from the Inside Out Project to your project?
I can apply what I learned from the Inside Out Project to my project by using some of the video techniques and picture composition to strengthen my project.
This project is a worldwide art show that isn't regulated. It helps people to put up pictures of themselves that have a message. I like the one where people in NY took pictures and out them all on the ground. This showed me how people came together as a community and how they didn't care what others think.

One of the group projects that grabbed my attention the most was the Save the Arctic one. I liked this one because it made sense to have an eye at the top of the world looking over everything, especially the destructive industry in the Arctic. I think that this was a good method for them because it kind of gives off the ideas that people are watching what the destructive industry is doing to the Arctic. I will keep in mind that is it possible to tell a story by just giving a portrait of someone. The emotion in the photo can tell a whole story.
ReplyDeleteThe inside out project gives people way to get people attention. To tell them about what you are to promoting. It could also be a silent protest like in Belgium. They took a tons of pictures of people that looked like they were choking on something. They are airing try to ask for cleaner air. You can use this method for any subject you want to raise awareness to.

DeleteThe Inside Out project is a project that uses photos to change ideas and opinions. To me, it is genius. It impacts whoever looks at it no matter who you are because we can all relate to the photos in one way or another. The project that impacted me the most was the one done in Pakistan. Now, the drone operators at least have to have a thought go through their heads of who they are killing before ending their lives. This project changed some of my ideas for my photos. I was planning on having them be relatable but now I know that they must be extremely relatable to everyone who sees them. They cant be photos that you look at, think about, and then go on with your day. They have to be something that you see and impacts you for a long time.
ReplyDeleteThe Inside Out project displays photos to make people more aware of things going on around them that they might not think of on a daily basis. The group action that got my attention was the Pakistan one but my favorite would have to be the Iceland for gender equality one. They used this quote to describe what they were doing,"to highlight the importance of gender equality "with art as our weapon,". Gender equality is very important to me because if nothing changes when I grow up, and now, it effects me. I could still be getting payed less than a man with the same job when I get a job. I do not think that is fair at all and for them to actually do something about that is really awesome. I feel like in the US they might allow things like that to be displayed but it would cause a lot of controversy, so go Iceland! I will use this to help my project by thinking of creative ways to photograph things and how to impact people using those photos.

It is all about shedding light on topics many people may turn a blind eye towards, and about standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. The group action that caught my attention was the one in Johannesburg, South Africa. This project is about bringing attention to orphans with HIV and AIDS and about showing their true happiness and joy in their life. Many people view them as unhappy children who know they will die from this disease, but it is about showing their beauty and perseverance through the trial. This can be applied to mine by demonstrating the beauty that can be found in even the saddest of situations.

ReplyDeleteThe Inside Out project is a global art project allowing people to send messages to the public about their views on things and how the world or situations are effecting them. This is a perfect example by the way of how art can change the world. This project created by JR allows people to share their portrait to the public about what they stand fr. It gives people the strong opportunity to finally get people to notice and listen to a cause. It gives people chances to fight for what they love and believe in. Which to me is a very powerful thing. Everyone is aloud opinions but not everyones are heard. The Inside Out Project gives people the chance to express themselves though art. I support this project 100% and think that its awesome! "Get Busy Living" and "No Boundaries Bigger Dreams" were two actions that really stood out to me. Just by the title of the two i was drawn in, because it wasn't sappy or depressing, it was an action of upbeat happiness and inspiration. The first one, Get Busy Living interprets a fine message, we dont have forever. We all have a limited time here on this earth so make it worth it, I love that statement because that is how I live my life! The second one, No Boundaries Bigger Dreams says it right there in the title. This action is for kids to take down the imaginary walls and dream far beyond that. I LOVE THIS PROJECT! I think it really is changing the world.
The Inside Out project is an art show that is global and uses art to influence how people view not only the world around them but themselves. The art pieces are not the normal everyday common idea. It exposes light to the ideas that people are uncomfortable about,not well informed about or even did not know existed. The soldiers smiling for justice caught my eye because I am all for supporting our troops here in America as well as around the world. The men and women who lay their lives down for their homes and countries is amazing to me. the sacrifice they take to protect people they may never meet. In the images you were able to see each soldiers personality shine through. They were not gloomy, but most wer smiling and laughing, I could see a sparkle in their eye. I felt as though I was able to connect with them.

ReplyDeleteThe Inside Out project is a global participatory art project that gives everyone a chance to share their portrait and make a statement for what they stand for. It is also for untold stories and transform messages of personal identity into works of public art. The Action that gabbed my attention the most are the pictures from MEDELLIN , COLOMBIA called the No Boundaries, Bigger Dreams because of how they use their pictures to capture your attention. Their statement is "Children to dream big / Taking down of imagined boundaries" and show pictures of people with words written on their hands like "justica" and "tolerancia" which mean justice and tolerance when translated, which everyone can can relate to. The pictures really capture what the Inside Out projects is really about, and really has the chance to change the world.

I like the action JUSTICE FOR AFGHAN REFUGEES IN BELGIUM because it opens my eyes to the craziness and injustice of this world and the beauty that some people are kind enough to do something about it. I think they had a good idea and implemented it very successfully because many people saw their posters.

Ted X Karachi is my favorite. It was a project focused on the exposure of persecution of minorities in Pakistan. It was very powerful.

In these photographs, the impact they have on people is directly affected by the message and inversely affected by the composition. I need to think about that as I take photos.

The Inside Out Project raises awareness for causes through photography. My favorite group action is Save the Arctic because I love arctic animals. I liked the project because I have knowledge on the project and I think it’s a good cause. The group members were very resilient and did not give up. Our group can apply that to our project.

The Black Lived Matter statement grabbed my eye because it has continuously been such a big topic of discussion. Black Lives Matter is a visual statement in response to the murder of Trayvon Martin in 2012. This was a good action to take, because Black Lives Matter was and still is a continuous trend and saying used for the importance of lives that were taken too soon and for the wrong reasons.
How can you apply what you learned from the Inside Out Project to your project?
I can apply this Group's statement to mine, because in the scheme of things, any topic is very concerning for some people. My project can be about something that affects me, or something that affects everyone.

For me, the action that grabbed my attention the most was the "Women of India" project. It really interested me because the villages of these people were still stuck in past times and most of the women had never been photographed before. Explain why or why not.--The action the grabbed my attention was "Lullaby of the Streets." This action was about underprivileged children, and how their mothers and grandmothers never were able to sing them lullabies, but instead were put to sleep by car horns and casual conversations. They said that these kids were like the "street cats" and that this project is dedicated to them, who have to spend their childhood out on the streets. I think this was a good vehicle to get their message across and affect change.
How can you apply what you learned from the Inside Out Project to your project?--I can take these photos from the Inside Out Project and use them as inspiration to make my photos as meaningful as possible and hopefully inspire change in the community.

ReplyDeleteThe Inside Out Project is how people share portraits, be it of themselves or others, to get a chance to voice their opinion about a certain matter. This project enables people to make a change in the world through photography.
Which action grabs your attention the most?
The Group Action "Save the Arctic" grabbed my attention. I am an avid supporter of saving the ice in the north pole, just like many others. My eye constantly shifts to the arctic whenever I look at a map, and this project took that to a whole new level. They literally made an eye out of thousands of portraits that rested in the arctic to symbolize how everyone is watching in horror as the arctic melts through our hands.
Do you think this was a good vehicle fro that particular group to affect change?
Although this most likely wasn't the best "vehicle" to get the message across, this was still a unique way of getting their point across. Everyday, at least one person tries to help prevent further melting of the icecaps, but their voices aren't heard. There are senators who try to help with the situation, and research facilities dedicated to the prevention. However, an act so out-of-the-box such as this really grabs the attention of the public, and it brings more awareness to this topic.
How can you apply what you learned from the Inside Out Project to your project?
For my project specifically, I am planning on capturing the beauty of the landscapes that surround the state of Colorado. These scenes will not be here forever, that fate is inevitable, so it is important that we treasure these things while they last. One thing I could do, similar to how the "Save the Arctic", would be to take all of the images we take and create a collage that is symbolic about our topic: Save the environment.
The Inside Out Project is an organization where people display their art work around their work in public places to show what their beliefs and views on life are.

The action was about how women in India are generally relegated to the background of society and not seen outside of their homes as much as men are, and that is not what is right to the photographer, they were as important as everyone else and we all should see that, literally.
I can take the photos and use them as inspiration on how my message should be, and that my photos can inspire change in life.

The black lives matter action grabbed my attention the most just because I agree with that movement. I think that when people see how actual people (the portraits) are affected by this issue, it makes it personal to them. It will provoke change.
I can apply this to my project by trying to make it more personal to the people who view the pictures.

-The action that grabbed my attention is hanging posters on buildings. I was thinking small but these posters are huge. I think for the group that wanted people to never forget the children who have been murdered and their mothers could affect change. The posters are hard to miss and call attention to it. People can't just avoid the problem when it is staring them right in the face. The women have pain in their expressions and it can be seen.

-Making it bold. Don't just let the poster blend into the wall. Have it stand out.

The action that really popped to me was the gigantic posters hanging from the buildings. It really grabbed my attention because it's huge and very easy for everyone who walks past to see and think about.

How can you apply what you learned from the Inside Out Project to your project?
In my photos I will try and capture people's emotions and actions towards these major issues in our world today.
What is the Inside Out Project about?

The action that grabs my attention it the one of two people holding a paper with a different face on it. It is a good photo because it shows what they did to make the portraits and how they feel on the outside.
How can you apply what you learned from the Inside Out Project to your project? I can apply this to my project because there are different ways to express things in faces through photography.

ReplyDelete-The one that grabs my attention the most is the one with the different people with all different races. It was a good way to show that countries shouldn't be enemies and that we all are the same in a way. Very effective to send a message to come together as people.

I think the actions that was most interesting was the importance of education in Kilimanjaro, I think it was a good because it showed a lot of pictures about how the education is so much different than the education in the United States. It allowed people all over the world to want to make change.

I can apply what I learned from the Inside Out Project to my project by allowing my statement to be seen by others to try and make a change.

What grabbed my attention the most was the posters hanging from the buildings because it made me think about all of the other people walking near or around it and how it affected them.

I can apply this by realizing all the different ways through public display that I can affect people by exposing my photography.

My favorite Group Action is MIRROR, MIRROR, MY BEAUTIFUL MIRROR because it helps children believe in themselves.

ReplyDeletethe inside out project is about showing the differences in everyone from ethnicity to gender. It's a project for tolerance showing different views throughout the world. save the arctic catches my attention because it shows the importance of nature and how we need to preserve it. this forum showed me how you can use portriats to send a message.
